Michelle Lynn Clausen was born on November 2, 1981 to Michael and Debra (Gruwell) Clausen in Madison, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd.  Michelle graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School and attended Minnesota West Technical College obtaining a degree in administrative assistance. She was united in marriage to Jonathon DenHartigh on June 28, 2008 and they made their home in Montevideo.  Together they had two children, Audrey and Jeffrey.

Michelle was a caring and loving person. She had a smile that would light up the room and used it often.  Michelle spent much of her life working with children as a day care provider and as a PCA for her dear friend, Sam. She ended her professional career working as a human resource specialist at Friendship Homes. Michelle had an admiration for the country lifestyle which led to her love of horses and gardening.  She was well known for her ability to cook, and anything she put together was enjoyed by her family and friends. Michelle loved nothing more than spending time with her family, and watching her children in their activities.

She is survived by her husband, Jonathon DenHartigh, of Montevideo; children: Audrey and Jeffrey DenHartigh; mother, Debra Clausen (fiancé Bob Moore), of Watson; brothers: Brandon (Steph) Clausen, of Boyd, Gerad (Jamie) Clausen, of Boyd, and Casey (Hillary) Clausen, of Dawson; grandparents: Elaine Larson, Gerald (Janet) Gruwell; father-in-law, John (Ellen) DenHartigh, of Portage, WI; brother-in-law, Steven (Molly) Hering, of Hudson, WI; sisters-in-law: Angie Richardson, of Montevideo, and Trisha (Brendan) Lien, of Montevideo; step-father-in-law, Don Hering (Lorna Odell); nieces and nephews: Shelby, Emma, Paige, Zander, Cohen, Maddox, Amelia, Tucker, Asher, and Adrian; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Michael Clausen; grandparents, Chester and Edith Clausen, and Alan Larson; mother-in-law, Marge Hering; nephew, Lucas Clausen; grandmother-in-law, Betty Siverhus; and brother-in-law, Jeff Haff.
