Patricia (Garbe) Kalstrom

Pat Kalstrom, formerly of Montevideo, died Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Bethesda in Willmar at the age of 92.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar.  

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the service on Monday.

Patricia Marie (Garbe) Kalstrom was born July 23, 1927  the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Sorley) Garbe.  She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1945.  Pat was united in marriage with J. Kenneth Kalstrom June 18, 1949 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  They lived in Montevideo where she worked as a secretary in the Montevideo school system until they moved in 1978 to Watertown, SD where she worked as a secretary for the school athletic director.  She retired in 1991 when they moved to Willmar.  Pat was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar.  She sang in the church choir and enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by her children: Holly Gilbertson of Montevideo, Heidi (Robert) Lewis of St. Paul, and Jonathan Kalstrom of Minneapolis; four grandchildren: Shane (Shelly) Gilbertson, Brett (Peggy) Gilbertson, Crystal (Jeff) Feuerhelm, and Drew (Lori) Gilbertson; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Winnie Peterson of El Paso, TX and Janice Joslyn of Casper, WY.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ken August, 18, 1995; son-in-law, Tom Gilbertson; daughter-in-law, Linda Jacobs; and her sister, Dorothy Ost.
