Scott Michael Heggestad

Scott Heggestad of South St. Paul, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 63.

Memorial services will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home of Granite Falls.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Scott was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on January 20th, 1959 where he lived until 1961. In 1961 Scott moved with his parents to Minnesota. Scott graduated from Dawson High School in 1977. He worked many miscellaneous jobs while in school. In 1981 he started with Land O Lakes in Dawson. Shortly after starting in Dawson he moved to Minneapolis where he became a member of the Teamsters Local 471. He retired with Land O Lakes with 30+ years of service in 2016. 

Scott loved dirt track racing as well as NASCAR. He would travel anywhere to watch a race. Whenever he would travel, he would make life long friends. If Scott was not racing, he could generally be found in the kitchen. He loved to cook for his friends and family.  He could also be found on the Mississippi River grilling with his friends. Scott loved his parents more than anything. He would make a trip out to visit them at least once a month, most months more. 

Scott is survived by his parents, Richard and Janice of Montevideo; brother Mark, his wife Darlene, and their children: Matthew, Michael, and Brianna of Jacksonville, FL; brother Chad, his wife Jennifer, and their children: Natasha, Chantel, and Yvette of Kimball, MN; sister Missy, her husband Les, and daughter Sofie of Waite Park, MN, brother Jason, Charle, and their children: Jurnee, Cody, Alex, Sydnee, Kailee, and Falynn. 

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sigvold and Alma Heggestad; grandparents, George and Martha Glisky; and aunt Catherine of Alta Loma, CA.
