Tammy Allison Obituary

Tamera (Tammy) Allison, 58, of Belleview, Florida, passed away on January 10th, 2020.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020  at Bergen Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Danielson officiating.

Tamera Ann Larson was born on August 16, 1961. After much prayer, Gilmore and Marilyn Larson received this beautiful baby girl at 4 weeks old from Lutheran Social Service in Minneapolis, MN. Tammy came home to a 2 year old brother and she sure made a hit from the very beginning. Just 11 months later her sister Judy joined the family and the following year Kathy joined the family. Because of the closeness in age the Larson siblings became very close. They lived on a farm so many years were spent helping on the farm, walking the bean fields, playing outside, helping mom in the garden and taking care of animals. She was a care giver early on; taking care of her cats and when kittens arrived she named them and even noting the time of birth for each of them and she also had a horse for many years named Tee-Pee. Tammy was also a care giver to the neighborhood children; she babysat for numerous families and she could still recall many funny stories about her babysitting days.

Tammy attended school in Clarkfield graduating in 1979. She was a very friendly and social person and was a pom-pom girl in high school. In addition she took piano lessons and was very involved at Bergen Church, where she was baptized by Pastor E.T. Fyrand and confirmed by Pastor Digerness in 1976.

Tammy was united in marriage to Jeff Winters on October 18, 1980 and to this union 3 boys were born: Michael, Corey and Matthew. Along with her cherished boys; Tammy had a daughter Elizabeth. She and Elizabeth were reunited a few years ago and they were so fortunate to have quality time together before Elizabeth tragically passed away in 2018. It was very apparent to all who knew and loved Tammy and Elizabeth that they were truly mother and daughter. They shared many of the same characteristics and personality traits and it was such a joy to see them together and we were thankful they were able to create a strong mother-daughter relationship in their time together.

Tammy was a source of information — she had a memory that we all found very helpful throughout her life; if we needed to remember a person or an event from the past, we would ask Tammy and she would know. She loved being with family and was always concerned about all of her family members and truly cared about them and what was happening in their lives. Her weekly calls to her parents demonstrated how deeply she loved and cared about her parents and all family members.

Wherever Tammy lived; Minnesota or Florida she was a wonderful caregiver to residents in the Clarkfield Care Center to the patients at the Ocala Regional Medical Center in Florida. Wherever she worked she formed close relationships with her colleagues and the people she was caring for. Despite any hardships in life, she always met every day with a smile. She loved to cook and play cards. She was extremely resilient and strong no matter what she was faced with in life. Tammy would say, "It's okay to step back and cry for yourself sometimes—but no matter what—you get up, dust your boots off, and keep fighting". This was Tammy and how she lived her life. She showed such beautiful strength and inspired people to keep going no matter what.

Her legacy will live on in her family: her children, Michael (Kara) Winters, Corey (Nicole) Winters, and Matthew (Kristin) Winters; her grandchildren: William, Lili, Rainn, Alazae, Peyton, Wyatt, Gage and another grandchild on the way; she also had one great grandchild Leia; her parents, Gilmore and Marilyn Larson; her brother, Tim (Jody) Larson; sisters: Judy (Karl) Bergeland and Kathy (Steve) Koetter.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth and her grandparents: Peder and Mabel Larson and Mentor and Lillian Boraas.
