Wayne Kenneth Marotzke was born on May 19, 1955 in Adrian, MN to Norman and Melva (Preuss) Marotzke. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Lismore, MN and confirmed in Avoca, MN. He attended Fulda High school and graduated in 1973. Following high school, he attended Canby Vocational and Technical College where he graduated as a diesel mechanic. His first job out of college was for Moe Equipment in Dawson. He was united in marriage on February 28, 1976 to Merina Clemen at St, Bridget Catholic Church in DeGraff, MN. He then re-affirmed his Christian faith when he became a member of the Catholic church, in 1976. Wayne and Merina made their home in Dawson. Wayne spent some time working road construction for Bituminous Paving and the majority of his career was spent working as a diesel mechanic, wrecker operator, and shop foreman for Dawson Truck Parts. He retired from there at the end of 2016. Wayne and Merina have 3 boys: Jeff, Shaun, and Travis.

Wayne was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Dawson and served on the church council. Family notes Wayne loved to work and enjoyed his time as a diesel mechanic, but his true passion was working on his farm, where he raised cattle and sheep. You’d often find him bailing road ditches near Dawson. Wayne also enjoyed fishing, camping, and outdoor activities. Fishing trips, especially those to Canada, were a highlight for Wayne. By far spending time on the farm and time with his grandchildren were very special times for Wayne.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Merina; children: Jeff (Lynn), Dawson and Shaun, Benson; grandchildren: Ethan Marotzke, Nick Marotzke, Marissa Marotzke, Chloe Marotzke, Jaxon Marotzke, and Tyson Benike; brothers: Wendel(Debbie) Marotzke, Hancock, MN, and Ryan (Cindy) Marotzke, Houston, TX; sisters: Judy Marotzke, Lockwood, MO, and Lori (Steve) Marotzke-Kunze, Worthington, MN.

He was preceded in death by his son, Travis, parents, Norman and Melva Marotzke, and his sister, Gail Miller.

Blessed be his memory.
