Carol Siverhus

Carol Siverhus, of Montevideo, died  on Monday, May 15, 2017 at her  home in  Montevideo at the age of 71.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Saron Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo with Vicar Matt Danielson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 5 - 7PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church.

Carol Joan (Slater) Siverhus was born on November 16, 1945 to Joe and Helen (Lindvall Grove) Slater in Montevideo, MN.  She attended Sacred Heart High School and upon graduating moved to work in the Twin Cities for a few years.  She married DuWayne Dragt in 1965 and they had two children together.  In 1975 she married Donald Siverhus at Sacred Heart Church.  They had two children together.  Carol worked for Brookside Manor in Montevideo for over 24 years as a dietary aid.

Carol was a member of Saron Lutheran Church were she was active as a Sunday School teacher, WELCA and singing in the choir.  She enjoyed wallyball, bowling, cards, casino trips, volleyball, and racquetball.  Time spent with family and friends was important to her.  Family will forever remember Carol’s sense of humor, her silly and carefree personality and as just an overall sweet person.

Carol is survived by her husband, Don, Montevideo; her children Troy (Sarah) Dragt, St. Cloud, MN, Tracy (Jim) Keyes, Pierre, SD, Tesa (Izzy) Maus, Maynard, MN and Andrew Siverhus, Montevideo, MN; grandchildren: Jebben Keyes, Kyla Keyes and Aydon Maus; siblings: James (Jan) Slater, Battle Lake, MN, Duane (Joy) Slater, Gaylord, MN, Linda (Jim) French, Forest Lake, MN, and Betty (Tom) Walz, Forest Lake, MN ; her precious dog, Snowball as well as other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Joe and Helen Slater;  her step-mother, Hermina Slater, mother and father- in-law: Arnold and Cynthia Siverhus, and sister-in-law Sonja Petersen.
