Ingmar Molde was born on March 2, 1913 in Montevideo to Ingvald and Birgit (Langehough) Molde.  He was baptized on April 1, 1913 and confirmed in May 1926 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1930.  He then farmed with his brother Adolph for five years while studying part-time through extension programs from the University of Minnesota.  He completed his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1939.

On September 20, 1941, Ingmar was united in marriage to Irene Tasa.  In December of 1942, Ingmar entered the United States Navy.  He served until January 1946.  Returning home to Montevideo, he and his brother Luthard, opened Molde’s Electric Store.  He was a Master Plumber.  He later farmed with his son for a number of years.  Ingmar and Irene had five children: Alan, Susan, Roger, Janet and Kathryn.  Following Irene’s death in 1986, Ingmar married LaVonne Larson in 1988.

Ingmar was an active businessman in Montevideo and was a member of the Montevideo Chamber of Commerce and the Montevideo Lion’s Club.   He was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and held many positions in church throughout the years.   One of his true passions was the Gideon’s International.  He worked hard to make sure that people who did not have a Bible could have access to one if they desired.  Ingmar loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching and following sports, especially football, and was a fan of the Minnesota Gophers and Minnesota Vikings.  Ingmar also enjoyed outdoor activities and woodworking.

Ingmar is survived by his children: Alan (Ingrid) Molde, Battle Lake, MN, Susan Molde, New Haven CT, Roger (Martha) Molde, Montevideo, MN, Janet Molde, Minneapolis, MN and Kathryn (Jeff) Ward, Montevideo, MN; eleven grandchildren: Michael (Carrie Albers) Molde, Brian Molde, Matthew (Missy) Molde, Evan (Tiffany) Molde, Stacey (Dan) Rudin, Laura (Kyle Ellefson) Molde, Marie Molde, Kristine Molde, Sadie (Corey) Enberg, Thomas (Sydney) Ward, and Phillip Ward; ten great-grandchildren: Eric, Stella, Piper, Liberty, Emma, Zachary, Eli, Ava, Amelia, and Claire; sister-in-law Annabelle Chervestad and brother-in-law Calvin (Agnes) Larson as well as other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene in 1986; his second wife, LaVonne in 2000; and his siblings Adolph(Eleanor) Molde, Borghild (Bert) Loken, Inez (Chester) Heieren, Josephine (Randy) Randisi and Luthard (Elizabeth) Molde.
