Loretta Glenice (Bergerson) Grant was born October 5, 1932 in Milan, MN the daughter of Thornie and Nettie (Hanson) Bergerson.  She grew up in Milan and graduated from Milan High School in 1950.  Loretta was united in marriage with Duane Grant September 26, 1953.  They farmed and operated the Dew Drop Inn northeast of Montevideo.  After the Inn and their connected home were destroyed by a fire on April 1, 1968, they moved into Montevideo.  She worked as a homemaker and with “food service” at the Middle School and the High School.  Duane died in 1978.

Loretta enjoyed sewing and making things like matching outfits for her grandchildren, morning coffee with her family and friends, staying up late playing cards, going to “craft night” in the Cities, cooking and gardening, fishing, and making rosettes which she sold by the dozens at Christmas time.  She made quilts for her grandchildren for their high school graduations.  She also made many Cabbage Patch dolls and the doll clothes to dress them.  Loretta enjoyed doing anything that would allow her to spend time with her family and friends: she shared and taught many of her recipes to her family and also had them help her with canning.  Loretta knew the importance of sending someone a card or to call just to say hello.  She had a drawer full of napkins from her Birthday Club.  She moved to Parkview Towers a few years ago and then to Brookside Manor.

She is survived by five children: Bruce (Avis) Grant of Montevideo, MN, Danny (Diane) Grant of Shoreview, MN, Nancy (Dwight) Johnson of Montevideo, MN, Jill (Kevin) Radermacher of Minnetonka, MN, and Jerry (Dawn) Grant of Sartell, MN; fourteen grandchildren: Jason (Lesley) Grant, Jerrod (Alesha) Grant, Anthony (Angela) Grant, Danielle (Nick) Pino, Brittany Grant, Dominic (Amber) Johnson, Desi (Zach) Anspach, Dayne Johnson, Derek Radermacher, Jordan Radermacher, Jeremy Grant, Nicole Grant, Andrew Grant and Ben Grant; ten great-grandchildren: Jaclyn, Tyler, Zoie, Addisyn, Lucy, Allie, Delaney, Zander, Joya, and Jensina; and her in-laws: Reed (Melinda) Grant, Marilyn (David) Armbrust, Donna Neis, and Kay Theis.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Duane; grandchildren: Sheena and Cameron Grant; and her brother, Ronnie Bergerson.
